Terms of Service
Last updated: April 10, 2026
When you use any Turbo Puffin product or service, you're agreeing to these terms. If you break them, we may close your account.
We'll update these terms when we need to. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know.
Who's who
"We," "us," and "our" means Turbo Puffin, LLC.
"Services" means our websites and products — that includes Helm, Propeller, Measure, and anything else we build and maintain under the Turbo Puffin name.
"You" means the person or organization with an account on one of our services.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Pick a strong password. We recommend two-factor authentication wherever we offer it. If something goes wrong because your password got compromised, that's on you — we can't be liable for that.
You're responsible for everything that happens under your account. That includes anything posted by people you've given access to, and anything done by automated tools or agents connected to your account.
Paying for things
If you're on a free plan, it's free. We won't surprise you with charges or sell your data to make up the difference.
For paid plans, you pay in advance. If you don't pay, we'll freeze your account until you do. If it stays frozen for a while, we'll cancel it.
If you upgrade or downgrade, the new rate kicks in on your next billing cycle. All prices are before tax — see our taxes page for details on where we collect tax.
For refund details, see our refund policy.
Canceling
You can cancel your account at any time. It's your responsibility to do it through the product — sending us an email asking to cancel doesn't automatically count, but if you need help, just reach out and we'll walk you through it.
When you cancel, your data becomes inaccessible immediately. Within 30 days, it's deleted from our active systems. Within 60 days, it's gone from backups too. We can't get it back after that.
If you cancel before your billing period ends, we won't charge you again. See our refund policy for details on getting money back for unused time.
We reserve the right to suspend or close your account if you violate these terms. If you're abusive to our team, that's an immediate closure.
What you can't do
Don't use our products for anything illegal. Don't try to break into other people's accounts. Don't use our services to harm, harass, or spam others. Don't try to reverse-engineer our products or scrape data from them in ways we haven't authorized.
We don't pre-screen what people do with our products, but we reserve the right to step in if someone is using them in a way that's harmful to others or to the service itself.
Changes to the service
We plan to support our products for a very long time — see our Until the End of the Internet commitment. But we may need to change features, redesign things, or adjust pricing.
If we change pricing, existing customers get at least 30 days' notice. We'll email you directly.
Your content is yours
Everything you put into our products belongs to you. We don't claim ownership of your data, your files, or anything else you create with our tools.
We need a limited license to use your content in order to actually run the service — displaying it, backing it up, that kind of thing. But that's it. We'll never use your stuff for marketing without asking you first.
You can export your data at any time. If you need help, contact us and we'll make sure you can get it out.
Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Our full privacy policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect as little as possible and we never sell your data.
Liability
We do our best to build reliable products, but we provide them "as is." We don't offer formal SLAs, though we take uptime seriously and we'll always be straight with you about what's going on.
We're not liable for damages that come from using our services, losing access to your data, or any third-party actions. We know that sounds cold in legalese, but in practice we'll always work with you to make things right if something goes wrong on our end.
